چکیده
Following primary infection, herpesviruses establish latency in infected individuals the host cells and may reactivate upon external stimuli during periods of immunosuppression. The objective this paper was to present current strategies on preventive therapeutic management infections with recipients hematopoietic cell transplantation. Strategies antiviral include prophylaxis, pre-emptive treatment targeted treatment. Empirical therapy is not used strategies. Prophylaxis can be done at universal (preventive strategy) specific level. Universal prophylaxis includes non-pharmacologic methods prevention infection or reactivation. Risk-adapted use antivirals cellular other order prevent high-risk groups. Pre-emptive means approaches asymptomatic detected by a screening assay. Targeted established viral end-organ infections. following sections refer strategies, respectively, against CMV, EBV, HSV, VZV, HHV-6, HHV-7, HHV-8 after allogeneic

Bacterial infections are major complications after Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant (HSCT). They consist mainly of bloodstream infections (BSI), followed by pneumonia and gastrointestinal infections, including typhlitis and Clostridium difficile infection. Microbiological data come mostly from BSI. Coagulase negative staphylococci and Enterobacteriaceae are the most frequent pathogens causing...
متن کاملAdenovirus infections in hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients.
We report a 12% incidence of adenovirus infections among 532 recipients of hematopoietic stem cell transplant (HSCT) from January 1986 through March 1997. The median time from day of stem cell infusion to first positive culture was 41 days. Recipients of allogeneic stem cells, as opposed to autologous stem cell recipients, were more likely to have a culture positive for adenovirus (16% vs. 3%; ...
متن کاملA 16 Month Survey of Cyclosporine Utilization Evaluation in Allogeneic Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplant Recipients
Objectives: Graft versus host disease (GVHD) is a life threatening reaction in the stem cell transplantation process. Nowadays Cyclosporine is the most commonly utilized agent for GVHD prophylaxis and it has a major role in successful transplantation. Cyclosporine has been applied for many years in this field but it could be stated that currently no general consensus is available for its optima...
